ROTATING OUT: SONGS LEAVING RADIO FREE CALIFORNIA

This means the music that is aging out is from Radio Free California Episode 2315. This includes music from Peter Gabriel, Mudhoney, Morris Day (!), Greta Van Fleet, Rich Allen, Nick Waterhouse, The Jonas Brothers, Mouistule, Fear 2 Stop and much more.

We celebrate these songs with a new show that will play on Saturdays at 11am and again at 5pm PST. We will say goodbye to the songs that are now a year on the playlist with one last broadcast, which will be repeated a couple of times during the day.

You can of course still listen to this music - my playlists are still on spotify and you can find them here. They're all searchable as well.

ALBUM SHOW NOTES

The Sixsters is a Ukrainian rock band established in 2018 by Kateryna Kuziakina in a small town near Kyiv, Ukraine. Over a period of four years, the band participated in the Ukrainian rock scene. The band's name, The Sixsters, is a testament to the close bond shared among the five members. In 2022, the Russian invasion of Ukraine significantly impacted the band members' lives. Some members left the country early on, while others sought refuge in bomb shelters amidst the conflict. The band members found themselves dispersed across different countries. Now the members of The Sixsters managed to reunite in Essen, Germany, and have a new album out called "To Be Continued..." and we will play the entire album start to finish on this week's Album Show.

The Album Show will run this Thursday Aptil 11th at 9am and 9pm Pacific Standard Time.

RFC 2415

For those of you who stay away from Spotify this playlist will be played this Wednesday April 10th at 2am, 6am, 10am, 2pm and 6pm PST. All of the songs I feature on Radio Free California are played as part of the regular rotation. .If you want to hear the songs we've added to the station this week you can use the Spotify playlist above or you can listen to this show.

However! This week we are adding an extra song that is not available on Spotify or practically anywhere else for that matter. It's a live recording of Jacob Collier performing "Hyperballad", originally released by Bjork. The performance is so good that I have to add it to the rotation. Thing is, it hasn't been released as a single and is only available as a live performance on YouTube and of course, on Radio Free California.

10 at 10

One last programming note: Every Sunday at 10am and again at 10pm we will feature our show "10 at 10", where we play 10 (and sometimes 11 or even 12!) songs from a year we pick at random. Again, all times are PST. Last week we featured a selection of songs from 1981 and for next Sunday's show we're going to feature a small selection of songs from.. well you'll have to tune in to find out! We also run the show at a "secret" time on Saturdays.

As always, you can go to https://global.citrus3.com:2020/public/radiofreecalifornia to listen to the station, and there is an imbed below. And did you know the station is available as an app? It's only for Google Play (sorry iphone users - Apples terms and conditions were too restrictive for me) but you can listen on your phone at your convenience too.

Cheap shots:

Was there any conquering involved? (too soon?)

This dude is as Christian as the leader of Hamas.

Here's the general consensus about impeaching over a policy dispute.

One gets the impression that this pastor was never spared the rod.

I think his position is "I'll say whatever to get elected."

Looks like someone wants to break the seventh seal.

Ryan, the secret is alcohol. Lots and lots of alcohol.

Did no one ask The Indigo Girls?

Tacozilla? Tacozilla?

And it bears repeating: A vote for RFK Jr. is a vote to end Democracy as we know it.

I honestly don't understand why he keeps going to court. He always loses.

And because I love you, here is Jacob Collier performing that extra track I've added to the station:
