Sorry this post is up so late. I really haven't been feeling motivated to write very much about other people's music when I have so much I'm working on of my own right now that I can't talk about. It's frustrating but I have contractual obligations to meet and this business is like this sometimes.

Also, I'm dreading that the readership of this blog will decrease sharply thanks to a Ukrainian drone strike on a server in Russia. I have to admit though, that it's nice that the Internet has been so much quieter for the past couple of days.

Well let's start with the obvious: If Greta Van Fleet was trying not to sound like Led Zepplin they failed. That's a good thing, because that is what they sound like and there's just no getting around it. I think that they've come to accept who they really are on their new album, "Palace For the People". If any band was going to pick up the mantle it was going to be this band, and I think they've gotten the hang of it. Listen to the song "Heart and the Beat" and see if you don't half-expect John Bonham to bring in a ferocious drum part.

Where the hell has the band SNACKTIME been hiding? Their new single "Can't Imagine Why You'd Stay" is a friggin' masterpiece. They've mostly been doing remixes and covers for the past two years but I hope this this sone is a signal that they're getting ready to put new music on the streets. I for one really want to hear more of this, and hope their following explodes.

Jack Stratton, the leader of Vulfpeck, refers to Jackie Evans as a "Triple Threat", singer, songwriter, performer. He compares her to Billy Joel and believe it or not I think that's appropriate. Billy Joel of the early to mid 1970's. She's been around a while, but Jack and bassist Joe Dart sat down with her and recorded an EP titled "Introducing Jackie Evans" and this is a stellar work.

In all honesty I didn't have a new album from Ann Wilson on my radar, and suddenly she and her band Tripsitter release "Consecrated Ground" and it's clear from the opening track that she is declaring herself a solo artist with all of the gusto you might recall from her time in Heart. She still has that astonishing vocal range at age 76. If you've ever been a fan of her work you will enjoy this album.

Bonnie Legion has about the smallest following of any of the artists I play regularly. I first heard her 3 years ago and I've collected everything she's done. She does a LOT of collaborations (none with me yet - we're not on the same social networks) and that means that she jumps genres on a fairly constant basis. I don't think that "Re-imagine Me Within" is her best work, but I do still enjoy what she does and I recommend you explore her catalog. I added the song "Tiny Constellations" to the playlist this week.

On the other popularity spectrum is Remi Wolf and her new album "Mud". This is a very strong pop album, calling back an era when songwriting and arranging meant something. I added three songs from the album and that was seriously editing my selections down. I really think that the song "Twiggy" is going to go places, and it's not my favorite track.

Heading into Spanish Language territory is Girl Ultra and her new album "RRRomeo". Working with guest artists like Chromeo she has put out a perfectly fine dance album, and you will want to get your but away from the computer and see if you still remember how to.

Finally, let's quickly talk about "Calabama", the new song released from the vault from the estate of the late great Prince. To me it sounds like a funk track from probably the late 80's or early 90's, but the lyrics have hints of more recent times and the production values are like that as well. But then again, he references the New Power Generation multiple times in the song. Who cares? This is as solid as any Prince track. Added to the track are a couple of jam sessions and they are so much FUN.

I wonder if Kimberly Guilfoyle is now too toxic to return to Fox "News". Probably not.

Knowing a couple of things about Data Centers, I don't really believe that the bots have been destroyed. The ability to distribute them has sure taken a big hit though. And I'd be willing to bet a lot of people who had their fortunes tied into Crypto are seriously fucked now.

And to the MAGA Men whose girlfriends have suddenly vanished from the internet, my condolences.

Did you catch that the leader of the Crime Administration (and probably his human binky as well) fell for a deepfake video that supposedly had Denzel Washington throwing his support behind him? No, not Denzel.

Did you catch that a Superpac spent $20,000 on ads in Portland in support of Senator Collins of Maine? Oh, their ads were shown in Portland, Oregon. Oops.

The new official spokesmodel in the press office apparently has a law degree. Where can she practice law? In her own words, China.

And I'm sure some of you have done the math like I did, but the first shipment of oil from Russia... pardon... Oil Starved Russia... will last about 14 hours. The entire deal would only last us about 2 weeks.

And because I love you, enjoy part two of Bruce Springsteen's "Land of Hope and Dreams" tour.
