The Drop Nineteens were one of the original "shoegaze" bands. They had a solid run in the 1990's and when they broke up their chief songwrite said he was done with the music business, and with music altogether. It's now 30 years later and everyone should know to never say never. The band is back with a brand new album called "Hard Light" and it's a solid album and worth a listen. So we've decided to play it for you this week on the Album Show.
The Album Show will run this Thursday November 9nd at 9th and 9pm Pacific Standard Time.
For those of you who stay away from Spotify this playlist will be played this Wednesday November 8th at 2am, 6am, 10am, 2pm and 6pm PST. All of the songs I feature on Radio Free California are played as part of the regular rotation. This week, I even threw in an extra song that's not on the playlist above!
One last programming note: Every Sunday at 10am and again at 10pm we will feature our show "10 at 10", where we play 10 (and sometimes 11 or even 12!) songs from a year we pick at random. Again, all times are PST. Last week was 1987:
Cheap shots:
Weren't your grandparents actual Nazis? Screen that, motherfucker.
Slome days it seems like the whole fucking Republican't party needs to get laid.
I do feel sorry for those he left behind, but it's amazing to me how many of these fuckers can't deal with the same pressure they put on others who don't deserve it either.
Yeah, sure. That's not weird at all. Uh huh. Nope. Not. Weird. At. All.
I have always known that this guy was a crook. But holy cow what a fucking crook.
I'm not on twitter any more, but this is funny as hell.
My DNA testing for this process took less than 30 days. Not nine months. This may shock you, but he's lying. (Full disclosure, I'm about as white as white gets.)
I don't know about the whole "Bad as Playboy" part, but there are Shape-shifting Gargoyles.
I don't even like popcorn, but pass the popcorn.
And because I love you, enjoy The Veronicas:
