ALBUM SHOW NOTES
Another good week with several albums I could choose from to feature on the Album Show this week, but I've settled on the new PinkPantheress album "Heaven Knows". It's a vibrant mix of R&B and Indie-tinged alt-rock and I feature a couple of songs from the album in this week's playlist. If you're active on TikTok you've probably seen some of her short songs, but I'm not so I only really discovered her this week. She started out on Tik Tok and eventually landed a record deal with Epic Records. She hails from England and has made a big impact there and has crossed the pond to the U.S., even contributing the song "Angel" to the Barbie Movie. What makes her even more impressive than the fact that she's done all of this by age 22, is the fact that she hasn't let severe hearling loss slow her down. According to Wikipedia she is 80% deaf in her right ear. Even with all that, "Heaven Knows" is her first label release and it's worth your time.
The Album Show will run this Thursday November 16th at 9am and 9pm Pacific Standard Time.
For those of you who stay away from Spotify this playlist will be played this Wednesday November 15th at 2am, 6am, 10am, 2pm and 6pm PST. All of the songs I feature on Radio Free California are played as part of the regular rotation. This week, I even threw in an extra song that's not on the playlist above!
One last programming note: Every Sunday at 10am and again at 10pm we will feature our show "10 at 10", where we play 10 (and sometimes 11 or even 12!) songs from a year we pick at random. Again, all times are PST. Last week was 2007:
